I finally, finally...had time to sew last weekend. To those of you working outside the home, aren't ya just tired when you get home? How do you find/make time to sew? Really, I want to know because I'm having a heck of a time getting myself together to do all I need to do in the evenings.
A couple members from our OKC Modern Quilt Guild gave a presentation explaining modern quilting to the Cimarron Valley Quilt Guild. Besides taking modern quilts to display, we thought it'd be great to have some modern quilt blocks to show and pass around. Maybe even to use when we're at the State Fair or other shows. I put together a color scheme at the fabric store, which was a lot harder than you'd think, and made up these samples. Some were from patterns, others just improv piecing, which was really quite fun.

It's funny...a couple of the blocks I wanted a little more wonky are straighter than the wonky ones I was trying to make straight. And honestly, they look more square in person...sheesh.
I encourage you to step out of the box and let loose. It was quite fun!
